Taiz:The Ministry of Health and Environment has raised alarms over the closure of vital roads in Taiz Governorate, specifically the Al-Hawban road, by Saudi-aligned mercenaries. This blockade is posing a severe threat to patients suffering from kidney failure and cancer, as it prevents them from accessing necessary treatments at hospitals.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Ministry revealed that the mercenaries' control over medical facilities in Taiz city, particularly dialysis and oncology centers, is depriving patients of essential medical care. This situation has forced many patients to seek treatment outside the governorate.
The Ministry highlighted that the only government-operated dialysis center in Sanaa is under extreme pressure, operating beyond its capacity due to the influx of patients who are unable to receive treatment in Taiz.
Condemning the actions of the mercenaries, the Ministry described the road blockades as a blatant disregard for human life, exacerbating the humanitarian and health crisis in the region. It warned that the continued closure of roads around Taiz could lead to a significant health disaster for those in need of medical attention.
The Ministry criticized the Saudi-backed forces for intensifying the blockade, which restricts citizens' access to essential services. It called this action a display of moral and humanitarian bankruptcy. The Ministry further accused the mercenaries of exploiting patients' health needs as a political tool, labeling the blockades unjustified and the reasons given for them as mere pretexts.
