Higher Education Sector and 21 September University Recognize Outstanding Students in Quran Competition

Sanaa: The Higher Education Sector: In collaboration with 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences, honored male and female students from various government and private universities, as well as community colleges, who excelled in the fourth Quran competition for the year 1447 AH.

According to Yemen News Agency, the competition spanned five days and was organized by the Higher Education Sector and 21 September University. It saw the participation of 125 students from 26 institutions across the Capital Secretariat and governorates. The event, supervised by separate judging committees for male and female participants, aimed to promote Quranic memorization and recitation in categories such as "complete Quran, 20, 10, and 5 parts."

During the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatim Al-Du'ais, acknowledged the contributions of the organizing and judging committees, as well as the hosting university. He emphasized the competition's role in encouraging students to engage deeply with the Quran, thereby fostering Quranic culture and faith-based education while safeguarding against external ideological threats.

Dr. Al-Du'ais highlighted the significance of student activities and competitions in fostering societal partnerships and enhancing the social, cultural, and scientific bonds among students. Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, Undersecretary of the Higher Education Sector, commended the enthusiastic participation of students and the support provided by 21 September University and other institutions.

Dr. Mujahid Maasar, President of 21 September University, reiterated the value of the Quran competition in equipping students with knowledge and reinforcing their Quranic culture. He remarked on the Yemeni people's faith identity, which enables them to resist external pressures and support significant national causes.

Dr. Abdul Kafi Al-Rifa'i, Vice President of Dhamar University for Student Affairs, reflected on the competition's impact on strengthening faith identity and character building, emphasizing that such competitions promote values and create exemplary student models.

Abdul Karim Al-Dahhak, Director of Activities at the Higher Education Sector, elaborated on the objectives and phases of the competition, noting that participants are now equipped to compete internationally in Quranic memorization and recitation.

The ceremony, attended by academic leaders and representatives, featured recitations from the competitors. The Ministry of Education and Scientific Research awarded a shield to 21 September University in recognition of its support and hosting of the event, while mutual acknowledgments were exchanged between the university and ministry officials. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of cash prizes, shields, and participation certificates to winning students and university representatives.
