Hodeida: A meeting held on Sunday in Hodeida governorate, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water, Adel Bader, discussed the water project needs of the Hays and Al-Khawkhah districts and ways to improve services for citizens. The meeting was attended by the directors of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporations for Hodeida, Khaled Fikri, the Capital Sana'a, Engineer Mohammed Mada'es, and Ibb, Majid Al-Shami. It addressed emergency interventions in the liberated areas of Hays and Al-Khawkhah following the defeat of Saudi aggression forces there, focusing on accelerating responses and enhancing service delivery.
According to Yemen News Agency, attendees reviewed a field assessment conducted by an engineering committee tasked by the Ministry, the Governorate, and the Corporation to identify water project needs in Hays and Al-Khawkhah. They evaluated work progress and prioritized interventions to ensure service sustainability for citizens. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the visit was in line with directives from the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the President of the Supreme Political Council, aimed at assessing performance and improving water services in the liberated areas.
Bader stated that the Ministry is committed to coordinating efforts among local corporations to implement interventions and support water and sanitation projects in the West Coast districts. He stressed the need for a prompt assessment report on the water corporation branches in Hays and Al-Khawkhah. Bader noted the importance of a unified effort to meet citizens' needs and normalize service provision. He commended the local utility leadership and staff for their efforts to improve service quality despite challenges.
The Deputy Minister also emphasized that the repercussions of the aggression and blockade would not deter state institutions from fulfilling their duties. He affirmed the ongoing monitoring of operations and support to ensure a continuous water supply to the liberated areas. Khaled Fikri, Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in Al-Hudaydah, confirmed the ongoing provision of water services and readiness to improve networks and projects. Directors from Sana'a and Ibb also expressed their readiness to support Hodeida's water projects in the liberated areas.
