Hodeida Youth and Sports Office Enhances Ramadan with Sporting and Cultural Events

The city of hodeida: The "Guardian of the Red Sea," has embraced the nights of Ramadan 1447 AH with a sporting and cultural transformation. Stadiums and clubs have become centers of activity, under the supervision of the Governorate's Youth and Sports Office, showcasing resilience and energy among young athletes.

According to Yemen News Agency, this dynamic movement highlights the Office's commitment to the Holy Month for both physical and spiritual growth. The cultural competitions commenced with the Holy Qur'an, featuring major contests for memorization and recitation at Al-Hilal, Ahli Hodeida, and Shabab al-Jil clubs.

Intellectual and skill-based sports are thriving at al-Hilal Coastal Club, with chess and table tennis competitions drawing significant participation. Additionally, Shabab al-Jil Club launched championships in sports like wrestling, kickboxing, and handball, while Ahli Hodeida hosted Taekwondo, table tennis, and chess tournaments.

Football took center stage with the "Hayel Saeed Anam Group Championship" and "al-Hubaishi Foundation Ramadan Championship," attracting substantial crowds. The Over-40 Championship and the "Sports Martyrs" tournaments honored veteran players and celebrated the legacy of Yemeni sports.

Solidarity events included night tournaments under the slogan "International Quds Day," held across al-Hali, al-Hawk, and al-Mina districts. Al-Hawk district hosted the Martyr Captain Abdullah Shara and Port Martyrs Championship, linking sports with national identity.

Community engagement was evident in the "Cleaning is Everyone's Responsibility" tournament, merging environmental awareness with sports. Volleyball tournaments continued in al-Hawk and Hodeida city, showcasing the sport's growth.

Imad al-Burai, Director of the Youth and Sports Office, emphasized the leadership's focus on youth, noting that Ramadan strengthens "Faith Identity" and protects youth through programs that develop both mind and body. He highlighted inclusivity, political messages through sports, resilience, and social unity, culminating in the 9th Collective Iftar on the 17th of Ramadan.

The Youth and Sports Office's efforts during Ramadan symbolize a success story, proving that sports in Tihama remain a vital outlet for creativity and national identity.
