Hodeidah: A convoy of Eid sacrificial livestock was dispatched on Tuesday in Hodeidah Governorate in support of army fighters stationed on the western coast fronts on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. The convoy, provided through joint efforts by residents of the governorate and executive offices, included 900 sheep and goats along with five calves, at a total cost of 52 million Yemeni rials.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch of the convoy, Hodeidah Governor Abdullah Atefi stated that the initiative reflects loyalty to the sacrifices of the martyrs and frontline fighters, demonstrating the level of popular and official support for the mujahideen and their steadfastness in confronting the forces of aggression. He noted that community initiatives and Eid convoys embody the strong bond between the Yemeni people and fighters on the frontlines, linking religious occasions with the causes of the homeland and nation in a way that strengthens resilience and steadfastness.
The governor praised the contributions of Hodeidah residents and their honorable stance in supporting the fronts through continuous aid and convoys, stressing the importance of sustaining popular support and reinforcing resilience across all fields. First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri explained that the Eid convoys come within the framework of annual mobilization activities expressing appreciation and gratitude to the frontline fighters who make sacrifices in defense of the homeland, its sovereignty, and in thwarting enemy plots.
He also commended the interaction of official bodies and community initiatives that contributed to organizing the convoy, stressing the importance of continuing support convoys to strengthen the fighters' resilience and steadfastness in carrying out their national duty. Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources for Land Reclamation and Water Resources Sector Ali Hazzaa, Director of the Agricultural and Fisheries Initiatives Financing Unit Yahya Al-Wadaei, and Director of the Slaughterhouses Corporation Abdullah Al-Sharif affirmed that sending these sacrificial animals reflects public appreciation for the fighters' heroism in the 'Promised Conquest and Sacred Jihad' battle, and aims to share the joy of Eid with them on the frontlines.
