Ibb: Ibb Governor Abdulwahid Salah inaugurated the new building of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Al-Jazeera University in the governorate, which was constructed at a cost of 100 million riyals. He also inaugurated the faculty's Digital Marketing, Decoration, and Interior Design departments.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Salah, along with Member of Parliament Dr. Ali Al-Zanam, Shura Council member Nabil Al-Hubaishi, and Deputy Governor Mohammed Al-Muraissi, inspected the technical facilities in the faculty's laboratories and studios. They reviewed the Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Architectural Engineering departments to assess their compliance with academic accreditation requirements and standards.
Dr. Abdulraqeeb Subaih, Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, briefed the delegation on the university's initiatives to upgrade buildings and infrastructure. He emphasized enhancing the quality of the educational process by providing modern educational and technological equipment.
Governor Salah praised the new infrastructure and facilities, describing them as a significant contribution to higher education development in the governorate. He stressed the importance of aligning educational expansion with the development of academic programs and scientific curricula to meet societal and labor market needs.
Investing in human development through education is a key foundation for societal advancement, Governor Salah noted. He emphasized the responsibility of universities to prepare a generation equipped with knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to national development.
He encouraged students to utilize the available scientific and technological resources to develop their skills and knowledge, emphasizing that academic and professional excellence starts with recognizing their responsibilities.
Dr. Subaih affirmed the university's commitment to expanding infrastructure projects and enhancing the educational environment to accommodate the growing student population. He noted that the new building is part of an expansion plan to establish advanced educational infrastructure.
The three-story building includes nine classrooms, four studios, 11 computer laboratories, a hall for activities, training, and celebrations, 12 administrative offices, a workshop for the Decoration Department, a prayer room, student lounges, and fully equipped service facilities.
Dr. Subaih stated that over 1,800 students are enrolled in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. He commended the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research and the local authority for their efforts to create a conducive environment for investment and expansion in higher education.
