Sana'a: The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sana'a launched a food basket project today, on the occasion of the Prophet's Birthday (Mawlid) for the year 1448 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, the project includes the distribution of 7,500 food baskets containing wheat, sugar, oil, rice, milk, pasta, and tomato sauce, provided by the embassy to the Orphans Development Foundation, the Wounded Foundation, and the poorest families.
At the launch, the embassy secretary, Zahra Al-Sayed Ahmed, explained that the distribution of the food baskets comes as the Yemeni people celebrate the Prophet's Birthday (Mawlid). She pointed out that this humanitarian initiative is dedicated to supporting orphans and the families of martyrs, as part of the embassy's ongoing efforts to alleviate the difficult humanitarian situation in Yemen and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the two sister countries.
Zahra Al-Sayed affirmed that the project embodies the deep fraternal ties between Yemen and Iran, expressing her continued aspiration to expand and develop the horizons of joint cooperation in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two brotherly peoples in the near future.
Meanwhile, Ismail Al-Jarmouzi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Capital Governorate, and representatives of the Orphan Development Foundation and the Wounded Foundation, expressed their appreciation to the Iranian Embassy for this humanitarian initiative, which will contribute to alleviating the suffering of orphans, the wounded, and the poorest families. They commended the benevolent initiative, which will bring smiles to the faces of orphans, the wounded, and vulnerable families, and preserve their human dignity, especially in light of the ongoing repercussions of the Saudi-American aggression and blockade on the country.
