Japanese Stocks Decline Amid Middle East Conflict

Business

Hajjah: Japanese stocks declined on Monday, impacted by a broader sell-off in risk assets, as the escalating conflict in the Middle East and the absence of any near-term resolution fueled fears of stagflation. The Nikkei index fell 4.7 percent to 50,859.51 points, while the broader Topix index dropped 5.4 percent to 3,487.38 points. According to Yemen News Agency, no stocks on the Nikkei index advanced, while 224 declined. This downturn reflects growing concerns among investors about the potential economic repercussions of the ongoing geopolitical tensions and their impact on global markets.
