Sanaa: The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance have approved a joint coordination mechanism to rectify the status of endowment lands and properties controlled by the ministry's departments and affiliated bodies.
According to Yemen News Agency, this decision was made during a meeting chaired by Deputy Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Judge Ibrahim Al-Shami. The meeting was attended by key figures including Judge Ahmed Al-Kahlani, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Soumali, Undersecretary of the Investment Sector at the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance. Also present were Judge Abdulrahman Al-Barghashi, Head of the Real Estate Registry and Documentation Authority, his deputy Judge Mohammed Al-Na'ami, and other representatives from the Authority and the Ministry on the joint special committee.
The meeting focused on establishing a working mechanism for the joint committees, defining necessary executive procedures to implement directives and decisions regarding the rectification of endowment lands and properties. It also resulted in the formation of a joint coordinating committee and subcommittees to initiate corrective measures.
Both parties agreed that the joint subcommittees would start their tasks the following week, focusing on the rectification of land use and properties belonging to the endowments, or waqf, under the jurisdiction of the relevant departments. The joint coordinating committee will manage communication and coordination among subcommittees, address challenges during task execution, and handle unresolved issues by referring them to a higher committee.
The agreement highlights the importance of regular monitoring, requiring subcommittees to submit weekly progress reports and meeting minutes to the coordinating committee. These reports will detail the work and procedures carried out.
This initiative is guided by Supreme Political Council Resolution No. (56) of 1444 AH and Prime Minister's Resolution No. (6) of 1445 AH, both aimed at forming a high-level committee to address the status of endowment lands and properties held by official entities. The agreement seeks to enhance institutional coordination between the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance, expediting the efforts of joint committees to manage the utilization of endowment properties and lands according to established procedures and regulations.
