Knowledge University Hosts Event Celebrating Prophet’s Birth, Honors Students

Sana'a: A speech event was held in the capital Sana'a on Sunday to commemorate the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's birth. Organized by Al-Ma'rifa/Knowledge University of Modern Sciences, the event also included honoring top-performing students at all academic levels and welcoming newly enrolled students.

According to Yemen News Agency, Abdulkarim Al-Dhahhak, Director of Activities at the Higher Education Sector, emphasized the significance of the millions-strong turnout to commemorate the Prophet's birthday, showcasing Yemen's faith-based identity and wisdom. He highlighted the revered position of the Noble Prophet in the hearts and minds of Yemenis and stressed the importance of embracing the noble values embodied by the Prophet, such as sacrifice, altruism, and the spreading of love and peace.

Al-Dhahhak noted that the commemoration is an annual tradition for Yemenis, in response to Allah's saying: 'Say: In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy-in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate.' He added that the occasion reflects love, joy, and loyalty to Allah and His Messenger, embodying the principles and values brought by the Prophet.

University Rector Dr. Mohammed Mahdi described the event as an occasion to renew loyalty and love for the Prophet, urging the translation of this loyalty into practice by following the Prophet's example. He emphasized the importance of striving against disbelievers and hypocrites, echoing the Prophet's struggle during his time, and highlighted the current challenges posed by what he described as the 'occupying Zionist enemy' and Western governments.

Dr. Mahdi also addressed the enrollment of a new batch of students and the honoring of outstanding students across various disciplines. He remarked that the recognition aims to support and encourage continuous academic excellence.

A speech by student Wali Al-Din Al-Wali, on behalf of the University Student Forum, highlighted the virtues of the Prophet Muhammad and his impact on human history, portraying him as a beacon of guidance, knowledge, and success.
