Sanaa: A historic mass gathering unfolded on Tuesday in Al Sabeen Square, the capital city Sanaa, to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad for 1448 AH. The event honored the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, and his household (Ahl al-Bayt), as millions of people convened to express their reverence and devotion.
According to Yemen News Agency, starting from the early morning hours, a sea of people began converging on the central celebration area at Al-Sabeen Square. By 2 p.m., the grounds were filled to capacity, with throngs continuing to arrive from adjacent streets. By 3 p.m., the main square and its surrounding streets were fully packed, marking a significant religious occasion for both Yemenis and Muslims globally.
The celebration was centered around the name of the Prophet Muhammad, with attendees waving green flags, holding banners, and chanting religious slogans. This gathering was a potent display of the Yemeni people's deep reverence for the Prophet. The sheer size of the gathering was unparalleled, stretching across Al-Sabeen Square and beyond, capturing a historic moment for Yemen.
Millions of Yemenis from all walks of life united under the Prophet's banner, chanting collectively: "Here we are, O Messenger of Allah." The event served as a platform for renewing vows of loyalty and love for the Prophet, committing to follow his teachings, and reaffirming Yemen's stance on regional issues, particularly the Palestinian cause.
The gathering was enriched with religious chants, tributes to the Prophet, and performances rooted in Yemen's traditional heritage, creating a celebratory ambiance. Multiple groups showcased diverse forms of Yemen's cultural heritage, adding a spiritual layer to the central celebration.
Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of the Ansarullah movement, addressed the millions gathered, congratulating them on the successful commemoration of the Prophet's birthday. Poet Abdul-Salam Al-Mumtaz also recited a poem, underscoring the day's significance and the pride and devotion of the Yemeni people to the Prophet and his teachings.
