Sana'a: The Acting Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Sam Al-Bashiri, inaugurated today the operations of the Islamic Economics Center and the National Value Chains Center within the Policies, Studies, and Economic Planning Sector at the ministry.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Bashiri affirmed that launching these two centers represents a fundamental pillar within the comprehensive vision for reforming and developing the economic sector, pointing out that the current phase requires moving from temporary solutions to strategic planning based on studies and accurate data.
He noted that the inauguration of the Islamic Economics Studies and Research Center and the National Value Chains Development and Studies Center reflects the ministry's commitment to creating sustainable economic alternatives derived from the faith-based identity and scientific field indicators.
He explained that through the Islamic Economics Center, the ministry aims to build fair financial and economic models that enhance confidence in the national system and provide a safe environment for investors, while the National Value Chains Center works to draw an accurate map of domestic production, identify bottlenecks and gaps in supply and distribution networks, ensuring the enhancement of local product efficiency and optimal utilization of available resources.
For his part, the Deputy Minister for the Policies, Studies, and Economic Planning Sector, Fuad Al-Junaid, stated that the launch of the two centers adds to the methodological and advisory structure within the sector, noting that work teams and researchers have already begun preparing procedural guides and a plan for field research paths that will directly serve the national economy.
He pointed out that these two centers represent an analytical and research strategic arm for the ministry, as the Islamic Economics Center seeks to establish financial and commercial principles according to the Islamic methodology and provide innovative solutions to financial challenges, while the National Value Chains Center will analyze the added value across all productive and manufacturing sectors, from raw materials to the final consumer, providing decision-makers with accurate data that contributes to supporting local products, reducing the import bill, and protecting national economic assets.
