Taiz: Mawiyah Youth Club defeated Al-Siham team 5-4 on penalties in the final match of the semi-final round of the Martyr Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Ghamari Football Championship for official clubs in Taiz Governorate. The match was a display of tactical football from both teams, with Mawiyah Youth showcasing a strong midfield presence that disrupted Al-Siham’s attacking efforts.
According to Yemen News Agency, the first half saw Al-Siham awarded a penalty kick, taken by Shihab Khamis, but the Mawiya goalkeeper successfully saved it. In the second half, both sides entered with renewed energy. Al-Siham took the lead with an early goal, but Shabab Mawiya quickly equalized, pushing the match to a penalty shootout.
In the penalty shootout, Mawiyah Youth emerged victorious with a 5-4 scoreline, securing their place in the tournament final against Shabab Al-Rahida.
