Sana’a: A meeting in Sana’a today, chaired by Undersecretary of Information Dr. Omar al-Bakhiti, discussed the progress of work in provincial media offices and ways to overcome current challenges. The meeting saw participation from Deputy Ministry for Public Relations and External Media, Mohammed Mansour, along with provincial media directors, focusing on the difficulties faced by provincial media departments amidst current circumstances and limited support.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Deputy Minister of Information confirmed that the Ministry is committed to addressing the challenges faced by media offices in coordination with local authorities. The aim is to facilitate operations and enable these offices to fulfill their roles effectively. Emphasizing teamwork, the Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of completing tasks, improving media work quality, and enhancing media successes amidst ongoing aggression and blockade.
Dr. Al-Bukhaiti praised the resilience of media directors and staff and assured that the Ministry leadership is dedicated to improving office conditions. He highlighted the Ministry’s plan to train media personnel through the Media Training Institute, focusing on professional, academic, and media field qualifications. The Ministry is also finalizing media regulations to be issued soon.
Undersecretary of Information stressed the need for media offices to engage with the community beyond routine activities, emphasizing the delivery of effective media messages and showcasing societal resilience. Undersecretary Mohammed Mansour commended media directors for their work under challenging circumstances over the past decade and reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to addressing challenges and restoring media departments’ roles in monitoring local authorities and institutions.
