Sana'a: Deputy Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Nasser Al-Qoud launched the 'Medical Charity Program,' organized by Al-Thawra General Hospital Authority in the capital Sana'a on the occasion of the Prophet's Birthday anniversary.
According to Yemen News Agency, the program includes a series of free and discounted specialized medical camps under the slogan, 'Towards Better Health. and Continuous Giving,' providing comprehensive medical and surgical services and receiving patients in two consecutive phases through September 17. During the launch, Dr. Al-Qoud reviewed the level of public participation in the camps and the medical services being provided to citizens in various specialties.
He also listened to a briefing from Dr. Khaled Al-Madani, Head of the Al-Thawra Hospital Authority, on the services offered during the program's first phase, which began today and will continue through September 10. The services include diagnostic and treatment services in dermatology, psychiatry, neurology, internal medicine, diabetes, and cardiac surgery and catheterization. Dr. Al-Madani explained that the second phase, running from September 12 to 17, will feature a surgical medical camp specializing in general surgery, urology, neurosurgery, and orthopedics.
The Deputy Minister praised the efforts of Al-Thawra Hospital Authority in organizing the medical camps to coincide with the Prophet's Birthday, despite the ongoing repercussions of the Saudi-American aggression and blockade, particularly on the health sector, including restrictions on the import of medicines, obstruction of patients' travel, and the obstruction of humanitarian aid. He stressed the importance of such medical camps under the current difficult circumstances, emphasizing their role in meeting citizens' needs and alleviating their suffering by providing treatment for cases requiring urgent intervention. He noted that the camp is the result of cooperation and solidarity among all relevant parties, including the private sector.
Dr. Al-Qoud commended the efforts of the doctors and healthcare workers participating in the camps and their role in alleviating the suffering of citizens. For his part, Dr. Ali Sharaf Al-Din, Deputy Head of Al-Thawra General Hospital Authority for Technical and Medical Affairs, explained that examinations, diagnostic and treatment procedures, and the dispensing of medicines are provided free of charge at the outpatient clinic complex, subject to medicine availability.
He added that significant discounts have been offered in several departments and specialties, while the main hospital building has been designated for surgical procedures, inpatient admissions, and the reception of emergency cases. He praised the support provided by companies to the camp through medicines and medical supplies, contributing to the provision of free services to citizens in celebration of the Prophet's Birthday and helping alleviate their suffering resulting from the aggression and blockade imposed on the country.
