Sana'a: A meeting was held on Monday in Al-Mahwit governorate, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Dr. Ali Al-Zaykum, to discuss the cultural and skills program for school activities and training. The program aims to equip students with practical skills in agriculture, health, and sports, in addition to cultural, educational, and awareness-raising knowledge. This initiative is designed to prepare a generation that is conscious and well-rounded, possessing the skills, knowledge, and abilities necessary to contribute effectively to community service and development.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included directors of executive offices and relevant authorities, who reviewed the mechanisms for implementing the program at both the governorate center and district levels. The program encompasses various educational, cultural, awareness-raising, mobilization, sports, health, agricultural, and skills-based activities. These activities are intended to develop the capabilities of students and youth while refining their skills across different fields.
Dr. Al-Zaykum emphasized the importance of integrating efforts from all relevant parties to ensure the program's success and achieve its objectives. He highlighted that this will enhance awareness among students and youth, protect them from the dangers of soft warfare and behavioral and moral deviations, and instill positive values and principles in future generations. Furthermore, he pointed out the significance of leveraging school and training activities to holistically develop students' character, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to assume responsibility and serve their community. This approach also aims to strengthen their cultural, scientific, physical, social, and leadership development.
The Secretary-General stressed the need for strengthened coordination and cooperation among executive offices and participating entities. He called for providing the necessary resources to implement the program according to a clear plan and utilizing available capabilities and expertise to ensure that activities reach the widest possible segment of students and youth in the governorate and its districts.
Ibrahim Al-Zain, the head of the education sector in the governorate, reviewed the program's objectives and implementation phases. He explained that it will include the governorate's center and directorates, incorporating a package of activities and programs aimed at developing students' skills. These activities will enhance their cultural, educational, health, sports, and agricultural awareness, building a balanced personality capable of learning, creativity, and taking responsibility.
