Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects thunderstorms of varying intensity in a number of governorates over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicates that rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, is likely in the governorates of Bayda, Dale'a, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Hajjah, Mahwit, Sana'a, Amran, Saada, and Hodeida. Additionally, parts of the governorates of Lahj, Abyan, Shabwah, Hadramaut, and Mahrah may also experience varying intensities of rain.
Scattered rain showers with occasional thunder are predicted for parts of the southern coasts and adjacent inland areas.
Yesterday, several areas reported thunderstorms of varying intensity, which led to torrential rains. Dhamar recorded the highest rainfall at 32 mm, followed by As-Saddah-Ibb with 30 mm, and Hajjah with 22.8 mm. Rainfall also occurred in regions outside the range of meteorological stations, affecting the western highlands, interior plateaus, western and southern coastal areas, and the Tihama Plain.
The center has issued warnings to citizens about the dangers associated with thunderstorms, advising them to avoid crossing flood channels and ground bridges during and after rainfall. There are additional warnings about soil erosion, rock collapses, strong downdrafts, and hail. Citizens are urged to take necessary precautions against thunderstorms and to avoid unstable slopes.
