Tokyo: Minister of Industry and Trade, Mahasen Ali Yagoub, has engaged in discussions with Japanese government officials and business leaders during her participation in the 'Sudan Day' events. These talks are aimed at strengthening economic relations between Sudan and Japan.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister held meetings with representatives from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The discussions focused on investment opportunities in Sudan, the potential reopening of JETRO's office in Khartoum, and collaboration in areas such as reconstruction, technology transfer, and capacity building.
The Minister's visit also included a stop at Eisai Co., Ltd., where CEO Haruo Naito expressed commitment to ongoing medical collaboration. He announced the development of new drugs for the treatment of mycetoma and malaria, highlighting the company's dedication to addressing these health challenges.
