Sana'a:A minor earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 was recorded 16 kilometers northeast of Sana'a. The quake occurred at a depth of 18 kilometers and was registered at 123 a.m. on Sunday.
According to Yemen News Agency, Mohammed Al-Houthi, head of the Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring and Study Center, stated that the tremor was minor and considered part of normal seismic activity.
Al-Houthi explained that such tremors in Yemen are attributed to accumulated stress in the Earth's crust, seismic activity along the African Plate, and the ongoing expansion of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
