Dhamar:A workshop on deep learning for artificial intelligence (AI) engineers has commenced in Dhamar. The event sees participation from graduates in information technology, computer science, software engineering, and related fields.
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop is part of the Professional AI Engineers Program (PAEP). This initiative is implemented by the Center for Technical Education Development and Scientific Research in coordination with Genius University of Science and Technology. The program operates under the supervision of the local authority in Dhamar, aiming to advance education and localize technology and AI in Yemen.
Dr. Khaled Al-Husseini, program supervisor and adviser to the Dhamar University President, stated that this is the fifth workshop under the program, focusing on deep learning, a critical advanced field of AI. He highlighted that trainees have achieved remarkable results in five international competitions during practical training sessions, with over ten students recording significant accomplishments.
Dr. Al-Husseini further mentioned that the governor has directed that laptops be awarded to outstanding trainees as a recognition of their achievements. The course emphasizes neural networks and training models to extract features from images, videos, and other data, allowing trainees to develop models capable of data analysis and characteristic identification.
The workshop is a precursor to upcoming courses in computer vision and natural language processing, all part of an integrated training program spanning over six months. Previous workshops have covered advanced Python programming, Git and GitHub, software engineering, data engineering, and machine learning.
