Bani al-harith: Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Muftah, alongside First Undersecretary of the Capital Secretariat Khaled Al-Madani, inaugurated the 'Eid Joy Festival' for productive families. The event, organized by the Bani Al-Harith Multi-Purpose Cooperative Association, carries the slogan 'That they may eat of its fruit and what their hands have produced.'
According to Yemen News Agency, the festival is taking place at Al-Samad Park near Al-Sarkhah Roundabout in the Daris area from Ramadan 18 to 22. It showcases homemade food products, clothing, and handicrafts, supported by the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Unit of the Capital Secretariat and the General Authority for the Development of Micro and Small Enterprises.
Muftah and Al-Madani, accompanied by various officials including Head of the Social Affairs Committee Hammoud Al-Naqeeb and District Director Hamad bin Rakan, toured the festival pavilions. They observed the products displayed by participating families, with Muftah praising the festival's organization and urging marketers to support such initiatives.
Muftah emphasized the significance of supporting these products to help them evolve from household production to larger-scale operations like workshops and factories. He highlighted the opportunity to promote local products and work towards self-sufficiency, reducing reliance on imports.
Al-Madani underscored the festival's role in marketing and promoting local products while supporting productive families. He highlighted the quality of the locally made items and noted that such exhibitions are steps towards achieving self-sufficiency and competing with imported goods.
Hammoud Al-Naqeeb remarked that the festival aligns with efforts to economically empower productive families and strengthen institutional partnerships for development initiatives in the Capital Secretariat. He acknowledged the role of the Bani Al-Harith Multi-Purpose Cooperative Association in organizing the event.
Undersecretary Mohammed Saree encouraged residents to engage with the festival by purchasing local products, thereby boosting the local economy and supporting productive families. District Director Hamad bin Rakan echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the festival's importance in marketing local products at competitive prices.
Dr. Sadiq Al-Jathami, Chairman of the Bani Al-Harith Cooperative Association, shared that the festival features 70 productive families offering a variety of products. He expressed gratitude for the support from local authorities and development bodies in organizing the event, which aims to economically empower families and provide affordable goods to citizens.
The opening ceremony was attended by several local and community leaders, including Capital Secretariat Local Council member Mohsen Haroun and Directors of relevant departments. The event also honored two participating families with disabilities, recognizing their contributions with financial support from the Secretariat's financing unit.
