Palestinian Researcher Links Yemen’s Battle to Palestine’s Struggle Against Zionist Project

Sana'a:Palestinian researcher and activist Dr. Mohammed Al-Buhaisi stated that Yemen's current battle is a natural extension of Palestine's struggle against the Zionist project and its allies.

According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Buhaisi made these remarks during an intellectual seminar at Sana'a University, marking the third anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation. He emphasized the failure of attempts to fuel sectarian strife and divide regional fronts.

In his paper, titled "Al-Aqsa Flood and October 14 Regional and Global Fronts United Against the Zionist Narrative," Al-Buhaisi identified Yemen as a key pillar of the unified fronts supporting Palestine since the start of the operation in defense of freedom and independence.

Al-Buhaisi contended that the Zionist project, encompassing Jewish, Christian, and Arab components, was responsible for targeting both Palestine and Yemen. He noted that Al-Aqsa Flood aimed to awaken global conscience and transition the resistance axis from coordination to direct action on the ground.

He highlighted the centrality of Al-Quds to the nation's struggles, tracing its importance from the Palestinian resistance movements in the 1930s to later confrontations, such as the Battle of the Sword of Al-Quds. He also mentioned efforts to fragment Palestinian and Arab fronts, noting that Al-Aqsa Flood had revived national solidarity.

Al-Buhaisi cited Hezbollah's entry into the battle on October 8, 2023, as a significant move that displaced hundreds of thousands of Israeli settlers and forced Israeli forces to divert military units away from Gaza. He praised Yemen's involvement as an unprecedented model of initiative and support in the Arab and Islamic worlds, despite geographical challenges and blockades.

He explained that Yemeni forces pursued five phases of escalation, implementing deterrence measures, restricting Israeli shipping in the Red Sea, and launching deep attacks inside occupied territories. Yemeni missiles and drones reached targets near the Mediterranean and the Indian Ocean.

Rejecting geographical and resource limitations as excuses for inaction, Al-Buhaisi argued that Yemen demonstrated that strategic planning and political will could overcome such obstacles. He concluded that Yemen's core principles include jihad, resistance, opposition to tyranny, and steadfast support for Palestine, with the Yemeni leadership viewing Gaza and Sana'a as inseparable. He noted that prioritizing Palestine had garnered Yemen divine support, with the struggle against American and Zionist hegemony ongoing.
