Tehran: The Speaker of Parliament, Yahya al-Ra'i, sent a congratulatory telegram on Monday to the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, congratulating him on the election of Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei as the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.
According to Yemen News Agency, in the telegram, the Speaker, on behalf of himself, the Presidium, members of Parliament, and the General Secretariat, expressed his congratulations to the Speaker and members of the Consultative Assembly, the brotherly Iranian people, and Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei on the confidence bestowed upon him by the Assembly of Experts.
He prayed to God to grant success to Mr. Mojtaba Khamenei in carrying out his duties and bearing the responsibility placed upon him, and to continue the path of struggle, sacrifice, and redemption for the sake of values and principles, and to confront the forces of evil, arrogance, and pride, and American-Zionist aggression and terrorism, and to counter all conspiracies and plans targeting the Iranian people and the Islamic nation, especially in this exceptional stage in the history of Iran as it is exposed to Israeli-American aggression.
