Sana'a: The Russian Central Bank announced a historic shift in international payment trends on Monday, revealing that ruble payments exceeded 50% of Russia's total import value from Asian countries for the first time in April. According to Yemen News Agency, the ruble's share in Asian import settlements surged by 15.6% annually to reach 51.9%, surpassing the previous record of 49.5% set in February. Global Ruble Dominance (April 2025) statistics show that the ruble's influence extends beyond Asia. In the Americas, 60.2% of payments were made in rubles, while Europe saw a 67.6% share. In Africa, the figure stood at 68%, and the Caribbean recorded the highest at 77.5%. This development marks a strategic decoupling from Western currencies amid ongoing sanctions, with the ruble now accounting for over half of Russia's global trade payments.
