Sa’ada Launches Campaign to Regulate Bread Prices and Weights

Sa'ada:Sa'ada province's Office of Economy has initiated an inspection campaign aimed at monitoring bread prices and weights. The campaign, launched by province undersecretary Mohammed Al-Ba'adani and Khalid Al-Dhiban, director of the governorate's Office of Economy and Industry, seeks to ensure compliance with established pricing and weight standards.

According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign is part of a broader effort to oversee the bakery and oven sector, ensuring that bread is provided to citizens at approved prices and weights. The initiative also aims to verify that the flour extraction rate meets the 86 percent standard to protect consumers and ensure market stability.

Al-Ba'adani emphasized the importance of regulating the sector to maintain price stability and adherence to weight standards. Al-Dhiban stressed the commitment of both the Ministry's leadership and local authorities to implement economic policies that benefit citizens. He outlined that the set price is 450 Rials per kilogram for traditional bakeries and 400 Rials per kilogram for automated ones, with a single loaf weighing no less than 45 grams.

Citizens are encouraged to cooperate by reporting any violations regarding bread prices or weights through a toll-free number or the office's operations unit. Majd al-Din al-Razahi, Director of the Governor's Office, instructed field teams to ensure compliance and take necessary actions against violators.
