Sana’a Gov Launches Field Campaign to Monitor Markets

Sana'a: Joint field inspection committees in Sana'a governorate have launched a campaign to monitor prices of goods and food items in markets, establishments, and commercial shops. Khaled al-Khulani, Director of the General Administration for Market Stability at the Ministry of Economy, has emphasized the importance of this initiative in response to directives aimed at strengthening oversight and protecting consumers from spoiled or expired products.

According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign will involve field teams ensuring compliance with official price lists. These teams are authorized to penalize violations, which include failing to display prices or selling expired goods. Khaled al-Khulani highlighted that strict measures will be enforced against violators, in line with commercial regulations.

Deputy Director of the Governorate's Economy Office, Aziz al-Khulani, stated that inspections will continue across various markets, commercial establishments, bakeries, and ovens. He noted the necessity of cooperation from local authorities to support monitoring efforts and maintain price stability.
