Sana'a:The Southern Movement Component, a participant in Yemen's National Dialogue Conference and a signatory to the Peace and Partnership Agreement, has emphasized that the Yemeni people are the genuine source of legitimacy and power.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Southern Movement Component released a statement on the 63rd anniversary of the October 14 Revolution, urging international and regional entities to engage directly with the Yemeni people and their leadership in Sana'a. The statement criticized the recognition of authorities abroad, describing them as fictitious and incapable of self-protection, and called this recognition a misguided policy that fails to protect international and regional interests.
The statement also insisted that Yemen's leadership and people have the right to reassess relations with any country based on its actions and stance regarding Yemen's sovereignty and the dignity of its people. Furthermore, the component reiterated Yemen's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, asserting that global peace and stability hinge on the genuine backing of the Palestinians' rights to their land.
The Southern Movement praised the Yemeni people's resilience and political acumen in countering Saudi attempts to influence United Nations decisions against Yemen. It highlighted international awareness of what it termed Saudi allegations concerning holy sites, noting that Security Council efforts concluded with a non-binding statement supporting freedom of navigation, a stance consistently maintained by Sana'a.
Additionally, the component commended the Yemeni armed forces for their strategic gains and operations against adversarial interests, lauding the effectiveness of the 'blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation' strategy in maintaining Yemen's sovereignty and independence until the cessation of aggression and blockade.
