Taiz Human Rights Office Condemns Saudi Attacks on Civilians and Infrastructure

Taiz:The National Human Rights Authority's branch in Taiz has issued a condemnation of Saudi attacks and violations against civilians and infrastructure in the governorate over the past 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the branch highlighted that Saudi warplanes committed a war crime by targeting Al-Jeel Al-Jadeed School in the Al-Armah area of Al-Hazah district, Saber Al-Mawadem, seemingly in an attempt to disrupt education. The statement further reported that four airstrikes in the Al-Nashmah area of Al-Ma'afer district resulted in the death of one civilian and serious injuries to four others, including a woman and three children.

Additionally, Saudi artillery shelling in Wadi Hanash, Hudhran area, At-Taiziyah district, led to the deaths of two women and injuries to four other civilians. The branch emphasized that these attacks on civilian areas, educational facilities, and residential communities, particularly affecting women and children, are in clear violation of international humanitarian law, the four Geneva Conventions, their Additional Protocols, and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

The Taiz Human Rights Office holds the Saudi regime fully responsible for the killings and their consequences, condemning the silence and complicity of the United Nations, the Security Council, and the UN Human Rights Office. The statement called on international humanitarian and human rights organizations to condemn and document these violations to ensure those responsible are brought to justice for war crimes.
