Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted varying and scattered thunderstorms across several governorates within the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin released by the center indicates that thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by strong downdraft winds and hail, are expected to affect the governorates of Saada, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Amran, Sana'a, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Al-Dhalea, and Taiz. These weather conditions are also expected to extend to parts of the Tihama Plain and the western coasts.
Scattered rainfall, occasionally accompanied by thunder, is forecasted for the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, Shabwah, Ma'rib, and Al-Jawf, as well as parts of the highlands and deserts of Al-Mahrah and Hadramawt governorates.
The center has issued warnings for citizens to avoid ravines, valleys, and flood channels during and after rainfall. Drivers are advised against crossing ground-level bridges during floods. Additional warnings include avoiding elevated areas and staying away from trees and metal structures that could attract lightning. The center also advises against using mobile phones, recommends disconnecting the electricity supply, and advises staying away from water to ensure personal safety.
Visibility on roads and mountainous slopes may be reduced due to rainfall and fog formation. The center has urged relevant authorities to take necessary measures to protect lives and property.
