Sana'a: The Bonyan Development Foundation concluded in Sana'a on Saturday two training courses under its Associations Program, supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water Resources, and the local authorities in Amran, Al-Jawf, and Marib governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, the first course focused on building the capacities of executive directors, with the participation of 12 directors from Marib and Amran. The second course concentrated on strengthening the capacities of executive departments in the associations' technical units, involving 19 trainees from multi-purpose cooperative associations in Marib and Al-Jawf.
The courses were funded by the Agricultural, Fisheries Projects, and Initiatives Financing Units in the governorates, in cooperation with the Agricultural Cooperative Union. This initiative coincided with the Prophet Muhammad's birthday anniversary for 1448 AH.
Organized by the Bonyan Academy for Training and Qualification from Safar 25 to Rabi' Al-Awwal 9, the courses aimed to equip association staff with specialized knowledge and skills in management, strategic planning, supervision, evaluation, as well as advanced financial and accounting systems.
At the closing ceremony, Field Coordination Sector Head Engineer Ali Maher emphasized the strategic importance of establishing associations and strengthening coordination with them. He highlighted the role of training in enhancing community participation in development initiatives and building capable field cadres to advance cooperative and agricultural work.
Marib Agricultural Sector official Fares Al-Qanasi highlighted the importance of integrating official and community efforts to improve the agricultural sector and services. He noted that the current phase requires greater self-reliance to achieve food security and address economic challenges.
The trainees expressed their appreciation for the specialized courses, stating that the knowledge and expertise gained would help improve administrative and field performance, advancing cooperative and agricultural work in their areas.
