Mukayras: Two training courses in beekeeping, honey production, and marketing were launched today in Mukayras and Dhi Na'im districts of Al-Bayda Governorate, organized by the General Directorate of Animal Wealth and the Technical Committee at the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to Yemen News Agency, the seven-day courses, held in coordination with the Yemeni Red Crescent Society and the Agriculture Sector in the governorate, and supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), aim to train 100 beekeepers from the two districts in modern scientific methods of honey production and bee management.
At the opening, the head of the Agriculture Sector in the governorate, Engineer Mohammed Al-Haidari, stated that these courses are part of the economic empowerment program, contributing to the development of local resources and achieving self-sufficiency. He emphasized the importance of implementing training and capacity-building programs for farmers to enhance the skills of beekeepers and improve the quality and productivity of Yemeni honey.
Meanwhile, Mukayras District Director Yasser Jahlan and Dhi Na'im District Director Murad Al-Rayami urged participants to benefit from the training to advance proper beekeeping practices and sustainable honey production. They also affirmed their readiness to support similar training and economic empowerment initiatives that meet community development goals.
