Sana'a: The Livestock Sector of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, represented by the General Directorate of Animal Health and Veterinary Quarantine, destroyed two tons of expired veterinary medicines. These medicines were seized by judicial officers affiliated with the sector as part of their professional oversight and monitoring of livestock facilities.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry's Livestock Sector, Dr. Abdulraouf Al-Shawkani, explained that the seizure of this quantity occurred during a surprise field inspection of several veterinary pharmacies and drug stores in the capital, Sana'a. The inspection aimed to ensure the safety of the medicines being sold and to protect livestock from health risks.
Al-Shawkani confirmed that the destruction process was carried out at the public landfill in Sana'a by crushing and burying, with the participation of relevant authorities, including the Public Prosecutor's Office for Violations and the Environmental Health Department.
