Sana'a: Two workshops concluded in Sana'a on Saturday, focusing on developing participatory mechanisms for responding to emergencies, disasters, and flood damage, as well as evaluating and improving mechanisms for community initiatives.
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshops were held over three days and provided 37 operations and community initiative managers from the capital and various provinces with practical and theoretical skills in participatory emergency response mechanisms and modern approaches to evaluating and developing community initiatives.
At the closing, Deputy Minister of Local Administration and Development Nasser Al-Mahdhar expressed hope that the workshops' outcomes would improve participants' administrative performance, strengthen emergency response plans and programs, and encourage communities to implement initiatives that improve services and support local and rural development.
Deputy Minister for Rural Development Ahmed Al-Haij stressed the need for effective mechanisms to encourage community initiatives across all administrative units. He also called for continuous monitoring and evaluation of initiative-related activities based on practical indicators to enhance their effectiveness.
Participants highlighted the importance of the workshops in improving mechanisms for addressing emergencies, disasters, and flood damage, while promoting community initiatives in various service and development fields.
