Sana'a: The Higher Education Sector at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, in collaboration with the Modern Specialized University, convened a comprehensive meeting on Wednesday. This gathering included activity directors from public and private universities as well as community colleges.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting focused on discussing the implementation of the graduation ceremony guide, presenting the final report on activities for the year 1447 AH, and outlining specific guidelines for graduation ceremonies in public and private educational institutions. The guidelines aim to instill a sense of faith, belonging, and national loyalty, while promoting ethical values and the customs and traditions of Yemeni society among students.
Abdulkarim al-Dahhak, Director General of Activities at the Higher Education Sector, highlighted that the meeting aimed to review achievements in this year's report, evaluate over 35 scientific, cultural, and sporting events across various universities and private colleges, and clarify the regulations and conditions in the graduation ceremony guide. He emphasized a commitment to enabling students to hold graduation ceremonies that adhere to regulations, values, and ethics respecting Yemeni customs and traditions and preserving its religious identity.
Al-Dahhak stressed the importance of activating student activities in educational institutions to prepare students spiritually, physically, intellectually, culturally, and socially. This approach aims to strengthen students' religious identity, moral values, and discover talents and creative individuals in various fields.
Dr. Mujahid al-Jabr, President of the Modern Specialized University, underscored the significance of student activities as an integral part of the educational process in universities. He noted their role in discovering and nurturing talents and creativity across various fields. He affirmed that scientific, cultural, and sports competitions in universities are increasingly competitive, providing students with the opportunity to think, analyze, and venture beyond the academic sphere. These activities serve as a driving force and incentive for students toward a competitive educational process, enhancing their creative abilities, skills, and athletic and scientific talents.
