University of Digital Sciences Hosts Mawlid al-Nabawi Commemoration Event

Sana'a: A speech event took place today in Sana'a to commemorate the anniversary of the noble Prophet's birth, known as Mawlid al-Nabawi, organized by the University of Digital Sciences. The event aimed to celebrate the 1448th anniversary of this significant occasion.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Sa'adi, addressed the gathering by emphasizing that educational institutions have a broader role beyond imparting academic knowledge. Al-Sa'adi highlighted the responsibility of these institutions in shaping individuals who are integrated with values, morals, and positive behavior, ensuring that knowledge serves as a tool for societal service and construction.

The Minister underscored the importance of Mawlid al-Nabawi as a moment to reflect on the Prophet's life and teachings, urging that love for the Prophet should transcend emotional expressions or celebrations, and instead be evident in one's behavior, values, and morals. He stressed that the Prophet's presence should be felt in everyday interactions with family, society, and others, drawing from his biography the essential values of honesty, trustworthiness, mercy, humility, charity, and responsibility.

Minister Al-Sa'adi further explained that the inspiration from the Prophet's life should manifest in the university environment through work, creativity, discipline, and mastery. He noted that students should be equipped with both knowledge and morals, which are crucial for building individuals capable of advancing their nation and community.

The event was attended by notable figures including the Executive Director of the Information Technology Center, Dr. Fuad Abdul Razzaq, the University President, Dr. Fuad Murshid, along with his deputies, college deans, faculty members, administrative staff, and students. The program featured expressive chanting, poetic segments, and a report presentation about the university and its academic offerings.
