Sana'a: On this day, July 17, dozens of civilians were reported killed and injured due to the US-Saudi-Emirati military actions targeting various governorates in Yemen.
According to Yemen News Agency, the aggression, initiated in 2015, resulted in the deaths of three family members in the Al-Maqash area of Saada after airstrikes were conducted by the coalition's warplanes. Further airstrikes were reported in the Al-Talh and Saada city areas, as well as Al-Manjar village in the Ibb governorate.
In 2016, the conflict escalated with a woman's death due to mercenary shelling in the Al-Masloub district of Al-Jawf. Airstrikes continued in various regions including Wadi Jarah near Al-Khoubah in Jizan, and Al-Hasamah in the Al-Dhahir district of Saada, resulting in significant property and farm damage. Other areas such as Haradh city, Midi district, and Al-Shuraijah in Lahj were also targeted.
By 2017, the aggression left a child injured from a cluster bomb in Al-Safra, Saada, while airstrikes hit multiple areas including Shada district and Al-Dailami Air Base in Sana'a, causing extensive damage to homes and property. Airstrikes on Marib and Sana'a governorates resulted in further destruction.
In 2018, explosions from leftover munitions killed a citizen and injured others in Haradh, Hajjah. Additionally, airstrikes destroyed a farm in Al-Durayhimi, Al-Hodeida, and attacks in Saada resulted in civilian deaths and property damage.
The following year, 2019, saw artillery shelling by mercenaries in Al-Hodeida, causing a fire in a commercial store. Airstrikes in Saada and Hajjah contributed to ongoing civilian distress and property damage.
The aggression persisted in 2020, with airstrikes hitting Haradh in Hajjah and Nati in Al-Bayda, damaging public property. Extensive shelling in Marib and Al-Jawf, along with residential areas in Al-Hodeida, exacerbated the humanitarian impact.
In 2021, casualties continued with a citizen injured by Saudi border guards in Saada, and airstrikes in Marib causing further devastation. The establishment of combat fortifications by mercenaries in Al-Hodeida added to the conflict's complexity.
By 2022, the violence continued with injuries reported from border guard fire in Saada and reconnaissance airstrikes in Al-Hodeida. Combat fortifications and shelling by mercenaries intensified the humanitarian crisis throughout the governorate.
Most recently, in 2023, reconnaissance airstrikes in Taiz, Al-Tuhayta, and Hays districts were reported, along with heavy shelling across several regions, demonstrating the ongoing instability and civilian impact of the conflict.
