Sana'a: On this day, May 26, the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression and its mercenaries targeted residential neighborhoods, health facilities, communications networks, fishing centers, and gas stations, committing war crimes that resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of civilians in several governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, on May 26, 2015, nine civilians, including three women and two children, were killed and 16 others were wounded in an airstrike by the aggression on Jabal Sabir in Taiz Governorate. Additional strikes in the same governorate resulted in further casualties and damage as airstrikes targeted several key locations, including the house of the Deputy Governor of Taiz, the Taiz Axis Command, and residential areas.
In Amran Governorate, an attack on a health center and a popular market resulted in the deaths of four civilians, including a woman, and injured 20 others. Similar aggression in Hajjah Governorate led to the death of six family members and several injuries at a dialysis center.
Saudi artillery and airstrikes further extended their impact by targeting government facilities and communication networks in Haradh and Hayran Districts. The attacks continued with strikes on the sea route and Aden International Airport, alongside extensive damage in Saada Governorate due to artillery and missile strikes.
The cycle of violence carried on in subsequent years. On May 26, 2016, areas across Taiz, Marib, Jawf, and Al-Dhale' Governorates were subjected to shelling and airstrikes by coalition forces and mercenaries, causing civilian displacement and property damage.
The following year saw similar devastation with the deaths of eight civilians in Taiz Governorate from coalition airstrikes. Civilian farms in Dhamar Governorate and residential areas in Ma'rib Governorate also suffered significant damage.
The aggression persisted through 2018 and 2019 with airstrikes in Sana'a causing civilian casualties and extensive material damage, along with continued missile and artillery attacks in Saada, Hodeida, and Hajjah Governorates, inflicting further harm on civilians and infrastructure.
In 2020, airstrikes targeted Ma'rib Governorate, while artillery shelling in Saada resulted in civilian injuries. The violence extended into Hodeida with mercenary shelling causing damage to residential areas.
The pattern of aggression remained unchanged in the following years. In 2021, attacks in Saada and Ma'rib Governorates continued, severely impacting civilian life. By 2022, reconnaissance aircraft and mercenary shelling affected various districts across multiple governorates, introducing new combat fortifications and increasing tensions.
Most recently, on May 26, 2023, reconnaissance aircraft launched raids on Hodeida Governorate, with mercenaries establishing combat positions and shelling various regions, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
