US-Saudi-Emirati Airstrikes Cause Devastation in Yemen Over the Years

San'a: On this day, August 28, the warplanes of the American-Saudi-Emirati coalition targeted food transport vehicles, infrastructure, homes, and citizens' properties, committing severe offenses against the Yemeni people.

According to Yemen News Agency, on August 28, 2015, nine citizens were killed, including four children and two women, and 18 others were injured, including five children and three women, as a result of two airstrikes launched by the coalition's warplanes on a citizen's house in the Jabal Rabi area in the city of Ibb. In the same region, additional airstrikes targeted the old Special Security Forces headquarters, residential areas, and educational institutions, causing substantial damage.

In Bayda District, eight citizens lost their lives, and four were injured due to an airstrike on a trailer carrying flour. Several airstrikes were also reported in other districts, leading to further destruction and casualties. Similar incidents occurred in Hajjah, Taiz, and Saada Governorates, where residential areas and vehicles were targeted, resulting in deaths and injuries among civilians.

The coalition forces also launched extensive missile and artillery shelling in various regions, including Kitaf District, causing widespread damage to public and private properties. The aggression continued with multiple airstrikes on Amran Governorate, targeting transport trucks and residential neighborhoods, and in Marib Governorate, affecting various districts.

Subsequent years saw a continuation of such assaults. On August 28, 2016, airstrikes in Saada Governorate targeted water pumps and various districts, leading to further destruction. The following years witnessed similar patterns, with airstrikes targeting bridges, mosques, schools, and residential areas, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

Reports from August 28, 2017, to 2023, indicate a persistent pattern of airstrikes and shelling across multiple governorates, leading to the loss of lives and destruction of infrastructure. These actions have resulted in significant humanitarian challenges for the Yemeni population, with ongoing conflicts disrupting daily life and access to essential resources and services.
