Sana'a: The Women's Mobilization Authority in the Capital Secretariat, represented by its Social Unit, Small Projects Unit, and Financial Unit, in coordination with women's departments in cooperative associations, held a large gathering on Sunday in response to the Leader's call and launched social and charitable initiatives for the year 1448 AH to strengthen resilience and social solidarity.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event drew broad female participation, reflecting strong public awareness and commitment to supporting charitable, development initiatives, promoting the values of solidarity and cooperation. Speakers highlighted the importance of social initiatives in supporting vulnerable families, expanding charitable and development work, and reinforcing social cohesion.
A statement issued at the gathering reviewed the Social Unit's achievements, noting that humanitarian and charitable assistance worth YR 130 million had benefited more than 135,000 people through various programs and initiatives. It stated that 17,997 food baskets were distributed to the most vulnerable families, while 2,418 families benefited from the "Al-Karb" campaign. In addition, 341 charity kitchens provided 82,056 meals to more than 86,000 poor and needy beneficiaries.
The statement also noted several humanitarian initiatives, including the "Farhati Al-Eidiya" campaign, which benefited 21,581 children from underprivileged families, and the "Eiduna Jomaa" initiative, which distributed Eid pastries to 2,473 families. Other initiatives included the "Al-Afaf" project, which provided wedding clothing for 178 brides from vulnerable families, and the "Do Not Despair" initiative, which supplied clothing and prayer items to 300 female inmates in correctional facilities. Social visits and gift distributions also continued, reaching more than 100,000 families across the Capital Secretariat.
According to the statement, the Financial Unit organized five central financial convoys in support of drone and missile forces, in addition to field convoys for frontline personnel and other military formations, with total expenditures reaching YR 200 million. The Small Projects Unit implemented 310 development, agricultural, and food-processing projects, organized 1,555 agricultural workshops, conducted 1,124 tree-planting campaigns, held 349 skills and community development courses, distributed 3,000 medicinal, aromatic, and fruit seedlings, established ten agricultural nurseries, and carried out more than 1,000 community and development initiatives.
The statement affirmed that efforts would continue throughout 1448 AH to expand social and charitable initiatives aimed at strengthening resilience and community solidarity, while reiterating support for the Palestinian cause and readiness to implement the leadership's directives in addressing challenges and serving the nation's causes.
