Sana'a: The Health and Environment Office and the Republican Hospital Authority in Hajjah governorate organized a commemorative event to honor the anniversaries of Imam Hussein and Imam Zayd's deaths, with discussions focusing on their historical and religious impact.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event featured speeches from key figures, including Dr. Ahmed al-Kuhlani, Director of the Health Office, and Dr. Ibrahim al-Ashwal, Chairman of the Republican Hospital Authority. Dr. al-Ashwal emphasized that Imam Hussein's uprising was a humanitarian and reformist movement that prioritized dignity over life when faced with injustice. He highlighted that Imam Zayd followed a similar path, advocating for reform, promoting virtue, opposing oppression, and ultimately sacrificing his life as a martyr.
The commemoration aimed to not only remember historical events but also to draw inspiration from the values of faith, justice, reform, perseverance, and the defense of human dignity associated with Imam Hussein and Imam Zayd. Religious guidance official Hussein Jahaf addressed attendees, discussing the historical narratives surrounding both figures and their enduring influence on future generations.
Jahaf also shared religious and historical perspectives on the conflict between Imam Hussein and the Umayyad ruler Yazid, including the support Imam Hussein received from Yemen. These insights reflected the views of the speakers during the event.
