Hodeida: A workshop focusing on disaster risk assessment and community resilience was conducted in the al-Mina district of Hodeida province to enhance local capacity in disaster response. Organized by the Yemeni Red Crescent with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross, the workshop aimed to train participants on essential skills related to disaster management.
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop trained 20 participants from local authorities and relevant actors in analyzing risks, identifying vulnerabilities, and improving disaster response strategies. Officials emphasized the importance of strengthening preparedness, particularly in coastal areas that are vulnerable to environmental challenges. They highlighted the significant role community awareness plays in minimizing losses during disasters.
The organizers of the workshop noted that the program aims to transition from emergency response to prevention and capacity-building. By equipping communities with the necessary tools, the initiative seeks to enable better risk management and enhance overall community resilience.
