Yemeni Armed Forces Announce Major Military Operation

Baku:The Yemeni Armed Forces, represented by their spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree, declared that they would release a statement regarding a significant military operation within Saudi Arabia at 1140 AM.

According to Yemen News Agency, aerial attacks conducted by US-Saudi-Emirati coalition forces have resulted in multiple casualties and substantial material damage across various governorates. In a series of incidents over the years, numerous citizens have been killed or injured due to targeted airstrikes on residential areas, infrastructure, and historical sites.

In the Hajjah Governorate, airstrikes on October 14, 2015, resulted in the deaths of five citizens, including children, and injured several others. The attacks targeted homes, a water pump, and a transport truck with food supplies. In Taiz, strikes on the international airport caused fatalities and significant damage to facilities. Similar devastation occurred in Saada Governorate, where airstrikes led to deaths and destroyed telecommunications infrastructure.

The coalition's airstrikes have also caused destruction in Amran, Hodeida, and Marib governorates, with extensive damage to public and private properties, including the ancient city of Baraqish. Missile and artillery shelling have further compounded the destruction, particularly in densely populated areas.

In recent years, the pattern of airstrikes has persisted, with 2020 and 2021 seeing extensive operations in Marib, Al-Jawf, and Hodeida governorates. The strikes have targeted homes, educational centers, and other civilian structures, resulting in severe damage and civilian casualties.

The ongoing conflict, marked by repeated airstrikes and ground shelling, continues to have devastating impacts on Yemen's civilian population and infrastructure.
