Sana'a: The ninth Yemeni Telecommunications Corporate Football Championship completed its semi-final lineup after the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and the Zakat Authority advanced to the last four, joining CAC Bank and the Public Telecommunications Corporation.
According to Yemen News Agency, the two teams secured their places by eliminating Flousk Wallet and Yemen Mobile, respectively, in the quarter-finals held at the Recreational Club in Sana'a under the sponsorship of Yemeni Telecommunications.
The Zakat Authority defeated Yemen Mobile 2-1 after trailing by a goal. Mohammed Musa put Yemen Mobile ahead, before Mansour Al-Mutairi equalized and Baligh Al-Kahlani scored the winner, sending the Zakat Authority into the semi-finals in its first appearance in the tournament.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports advanced with a 4-2 victory over Flousk Wallet. Majed Al-Hashidi, Abdo Al-Idrisi (two goals), and Walid Al-Radhi scored for the winners, while Mahmoud Dahan and Hisham Al-Samawi netted for Flousk.
CAC Bank, the defending champion, and the Public Telecommunications Corporation had secured their semi-final places a day earlier, defeating the Military Heart Center 4-2 and Facility Police 1-0, respectively.
The semi-finals will be held Wednesday, with CAC Bank facing the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and the Zakat Authority taking on the Public Telecommunications Corporation. The final is scheduled for Saturday, September 19.
