Agriculture Sector Kicks Off Summer Farming Activities in Dhamar

Dhamar: The Agriculture Sector in Dhamar Governorate launched on Saturday a program of agricultural activities for summer centers across the governorate's districts under the slogan 'The Green Army.'

According to Yemen News Agency, the program includes distributing large quantities of diverse seedlings to heads of agricultural branches in the districts, to be further distributed to summer centers and planted in their yards with student participation. This initiative is part of the office's strategic plan aimed at expanding agricultural activities and strengthening young generations' connection to the land.

During the launch, Head of the Agriculture Sector in the governorate, Dr. Adel Omar, stated that introducing this program alongside summer activities aims to build youth capacities, raise awareness of the importance of agriculture, its role in supporting the national economy, and improving the environmental situation. He noted that the initiative seeks to instill environmental and agricultural awareness as an integral part of the educational process.

He explained that the goal goes beyond increasing green spaces to transforming summer centers into productive and environmental models that reflect Dhamar's agricultural identity, contributing to beautifying school and community environments, and fostering a generation that actively participates in comprehensive agricultural development.

For his part, Deputy Head of the Agriculture Sector, Eng. Hafez Al-Junaid, indicated that this step aligns with the broader direction of investing in the current agricultural season, enhancing the aesthetic appearance of educational and youth facilities across the governorate's villages and districts.
