Sana'a:The Ain Al-Insaniyah Center for Rights and Development has condemned strikes on civilian areas in Sana'a and Taiz, accusing Saudi forces of targeting non-military sites.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center reported that an airstrike hit a residential house in the Bab Shu'ub neighborhood of Sana'a, resulting in the death of a child and injuries to six other individuals, including a woman and another child. The strike caused significant damage to the house and nearby properties.
In Taiz, another airstrike targeted Al-Jeel Al-Jadeed School in Al-Armah village, Saber Al-Mawadem District. The attack partially destroyed the school building, rendering it unusable and disrupting the education of local students.
The Ain Al-Insaniyah Center stated that these attacks represent serious violations of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, which protect civilians and civilian infrastructure from military actions. The center called on the UN Human Rights Office in Sana'a and UNICEF to inspect the damage, document the incidents, and condemn the strikes.
Emphasizing the gravity of these actions, the center asserted that such crimes should not escape legal accountability and urged the United Nations and Security Council to act to protect civilians and educational institutions, ensuring perpetrators are held responsible.
