Taiz:The Ain Humanitarian Center for Rights and Development has issued a strong condemnation of escalating violence against civilians in Taiz province, attributing full responsibility for the human and material losses to the Saudi regime.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center reported that three children were injured when mortar shells, fired by Saudi-backed forces, exploded in the Al-Ma'yanah and Hamma Al-Sufla areas of Al-Misrakh district. The center noted that 42 incidents since the escalation began have resulted in 236 casualties, including 67 fatalities—17 of whom were children and 12 women—and 169 injuries, involving 33 children and 28 women. These casualties have been caused by airstrikes, artillery shelling, and sniper fire.
Recent attacks have reportedly claimed the lives of three civilians and livestock in an airstrike on the Al-Ardi area in Dhubab district. Furthermore, four airstrikes targeting homes in the Himyar Al-Jabal area of Maqbana district resulted in the deaths of nine civilians, including women and children, and injured an additional 16 individuals. In separate incidents, one civilian was injured by mortar shelling in Sharab Junction, and another was shot by a sniper in the Hudhran area of Al-Taiziyah district.
The center highlighted the ongoing killing and injury of women and children as evidence of the humanitarian crisis afflicting civilians and the increasing threat to residential areas. It stressed the Saudi regime's accountability for violations against civilians and their properties in Taiz and other Yemeni provinces, emphasizing the necessity for accountability and an end to impunity.
The Ain Center has urged the international community, alongside human rights and humanitarian organizations, to take action to protect civilians, halt these attacks, and ensure those responsible are held accountable to secure justice for victims and prevent further violations.
