Al-hodeidah: A specialized training course in occupational safety and firefighting concluded on Saturday in Al-Hodeidah Governorate, targeting 67 participants from the Al-Sulkhana area in Al-Hali District, all graduates of the 'Al-Aqsa Flood' training programs.
According to Yemen News Agency, over four days, participants received theoretical knowledge and practical training on the basics of public safety, methods of dealing with household and facility fires, the proper use of different types of fire extinguishers, as well as safe evacuation procedures, rescue of injured persons, and basic first aid.
At the closing ceremony, speeches emphasized that the course-held under the sponsorship of the General Mobilization and supervised by the Civil Defense Authority-aims to qualify local communities and enhance their preparedness to respond to disasters and fires. This contributes to transforming citizens into active individuals capable of protecting their families and neighborhoods during the critical first moments before rescue teams arrive.
They noted that targeting graduates of 'Al-Aqsa Flood' courses is intended to strengthen community awareness and link the spiritual dimension with practical and humanitarian roles in serving society, pointing out that training neighborhood residents forms the first line of defense in reducing human and material losses.
Organizers explained that selecting Al-Sulkhana area was due to its importance and population density, with the aim of creating a trained community nucleus that can support civil defense teams during emergencies. They reaffirmed that such training programs will continue to expand to various districts, enhancing rapid and effective response capabilities in facing risks.
