Ibb: Al-Jazira University in Ibb Governorate held a commemorative event on Monday to mark the anniversary of Prophet Muhammad's birth, in the year 1448 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event featured Dr. Abdulraqib Sabih, Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, who emphasized the occasion as an expression of loyalty to Prophet Muhammad. He highlighted the opportunity to revive the nation's sense of purpose and draw inspiration from the Prophet's values of justice, compassion, and social solidarity. Dr. Sabih mentioned that Yemenis celebrate this occasion out of love and reverence for the Prophet, renewing their commitment to his values and righteous path, while stressing the importance of emulating his values and principles.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub, Adviser for Academic Affairs to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, also addressed the gathering. He highlighted the significance of observing this religious occasion as an expression of deep connection and loyalty to the Prophet. Dr. Al-Haboub described it as one of the most revered religious occasions, underscoring the importance of honoring and commemorating it by celebrating and emulating the Prophet's model in life.
Further, Dr. Al-Haboub stressed the role of universities and educational institutions in raising awareness and equipping students with knowledge to confront the 'soft war' waged by adversaries aiming to undermine the nation from within.
Mohammed Al-Kibsi, an official of the University Student Forum, remarked on the significance of the occasion, linking it to an event that altered human history by bringing humanity into the light of Islam. He affirmed that commemorating the Prophet's birthday reflects the depth of Yemenis' connection to the Prophet and their adherence to Muhammadan values of sincerity, discipline, and responsibility across various fields.
Al-Kibsi called on everyone to participate widely and attend in large numbers to ensure the success of the central commemorative events in the governorate, reflecting the people of Ibb's love for the Prophet and their commitment to emulating his noble example.
