Al-mahwit: Governor Hunein Qutaina, accompanied by Provincial Mobilization Officer Ismail Sharaf Al-Din, inspected the progress of a community initiative road-paving project in Al-Madina District. Qutaina and Sharaf Al-Din, together with Al-Madina District Director Ibrahim Al-Nasser, Provincial Roads Maintenance Branch Director Eng. Ahmed Al-Yanaei, Al-Mahwit University Secretary-General Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Akhram, and Chairman of the Al-Mahwit Cooperative Association Humair Al-Harbi, reviewed the implementation of the initiative project to grade and pave the Al-Maazib-Bait Al-Harbi-Bait Mounis-Bait Hafidh-Bait Murshid road.

According to Yemen News Agency, the project is being carried out with community contributions and support from the Central Emergency Interventions Unit through cement provision. Project supervisors briefed the officials on the work completed, noting that the first phase covered the paving of approximately 900 square meters, while the ongoing second phase includes paving 645 linear meters with a width of ten meters.

The project will benefit more than 2,150 residents from the villages of Bait Al-Harbi, Bait Mounis, Bait Hafidh, Bait Murshid, Bait Al-Barhani, Al-Maamrah, Bait Jahamah, and Bait Al-Khayati, alongside neighboring villages and hamlets. The road will also connect the governorate center in Al-Madina District with several areas of Jabal Al-Mahwit District, including Sara' and Rayshiyah.

Governor Qutaina and the mobilization official highlighted the importance of community initiatives, which provide a vital lifeline for residents of surrounding villages who rely on the road as a main passage due to the ruggedness of alternative routes. They also stressed its role in supporting farmers by facilitating access to agricultural and productive areas such as Wadi Qaradh, Al-Ma'inah, and Al-Jahrah, which are well-known for coffee production.

Both officials praised the efforts and contributions of the local community in implementing development and service initiatives across various sectors, emphasizing that such efforts embody the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among citizens, while strengthening resilience and advancing sustainable development.
