Taiz: Acting Taiz governor Ahmed al-Massawi on Wednesday inaugurated the Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence labs at Taiz University branch in the al-Hawban area. During the event, Acting Governor al-Massawi, alongside Dr. Ahmed al-Amiri, Head of the Taiz University branch in al-Hawban, and Abdulqudus al-Shami, Director of the General Telecommunications Corporation in Taiz, toured the newly equipped classrooms.
According to Yemen News Agency, these labs were established with support from the local authority and Taiz University, with a total cost of 38 million Yemeni riyals allocated for furnishing the rooms. The delegation also reviewed the technological equipment provided with support from the General Telecommunications Corporation, amounting to 12 million riyals. This includes 20 modern laptops, four large 75-inch display screens, 10 waiting chairs, and 26 advertising boards.
During the inauguration and visit, Acting Governor al-Massawi expressed his appreciation to the General Telecommunications Corporation for its support of Taiz University in al-Hawban, noting the strong commitment of both the revolutionary and political leadership to provide unlimited support to the university.
In turn, Dr. al-Amiri, the head of Taiz University - al-Hawban, expressed his gratitude to the local leadership of the governorate for their continued support across various fields, particularly for their assistance in establishing the Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence labs.
For his part, Osan Najib, the social responsibility supervisor at the Telecommunications Corporation, explained that the institution's support for various educational and charitable organizations aligns with its commitment to social responsibility, particularly in supporting modern education and standing by the nation and its citizens.
